'Words have a magical power. They can bring either the greatest happiness or deepest despair', said Sigmund Freud, the pioneer of 'talk therapy'.
In one way or another, when a person is allowed to talk in a safe therapeutic setting, the magic takes place. We all have our ways of connecting with others. Sometimes we know it, sometimes we don't, sometimes we know more than we know, and sometimes we say more than we want to say.
In any event, words have an impact. We follow a certain pattern, or we fall off the path, or worse, we fall apart. In a crisis, we need to face our ways. A skilled therapist can assist in this process, empowering us to articulate what is important and be more self-aware and in control of our journey.
We appreciate your feedback.
